Talisman Pouch 1

Tuesday, February 23, 2021

Through the Stitch Club at TextileArtist.org, I came across Julie Booth who is offering a class next month to create a talisman pouch. I rarely ever sign up to things because I am so frugal and a self-learner, but I think I can use my guild scholarship on this (note to self: check on this!). Even if I can’t, I know I will learn about different materials and whatnot, which is important since I really only have quilter’s cotton and a few special fabrics on hand. Plus, I didn’t get a chance to do her workshop, so it will be nice to participate in a class of hers. Anyway, the loot has arrived, so I thought I’d share what she includes in the kit for any who might be interested. Sari silk, which I have only heard about in the blogosphere, lovely fabrics of types I can’t name and include some handpainted ones, dyed cheese cloth, lovely threads, cool beads, and the shell piece to add the special touch. I love the textures and can’t wait to see what this assorted pile transforms into!

She put this one together for me based on the colors of a photograph I sent her (my “page” from Stitch Club’s Pattullo workshop) – thank you for the personalized touch, Julie!
