#52tagshannemade 42

Tuesday, October 19, 2021

[I am following Anne Brooke‘s 2021 #52tagshannemade slow stitch challenge to make a little tag every week of the year – see them all here!] I made it to week 42! It’s hard to imagine there are only ten weeks left in the year. How did that happen? The challenge this week is to put tags on the tag. Very Inception-esque.

I considered making these really textural with a lot of different bits, but it was a simple week in my mind, so I opted for simplicity in the tag. Driving to and fro to work, I saw three rainbows (nearly got to drive into one!) and a couple of groups of deer. I have always been one to cherish the little things so I really enjoyed that. (The herons I typically see every morning in a little pond are gone now with either the timing of the sun + my commute, or they migrated already.) The ground fabric is from an umbrella that broke. The white tag is from a tag saved from a clothing company that I glued a scrap of polkadot fabric to. And the blue tag is from some scrapping supplies my SIL gave me. I found the little rainbow in some patches given to me long ago, probably by my MIL.

I also have been taking advantage of a work benefit that lets me sit in on special lectures, either in person or via zoom. Plus, I joined a journal club that meets weekly. It’s pretty stellar to have these opportunities, but without the hassles of being a student. People might say it’s where their fun goes to die, but for me, it’s where my fun gets revived! 😀
