Working on it!

Thursday, December 12, 2013

I have the new site fully designed and I created the CSS for it, with a pseudo run of HTML (basically, everything but the PHP that actually would make it work).

Alas, that last bit does require the help of Boy if I want it done any time soon (can’t really spend more time learning code when I got to be prepping for teaching in January!). And, unfortunately, his real job takes up a lot of time, but we are trying to get it done soon. I really hope by New Years, as I think that would be a great way to celebrate another year at theCrafties.

Here is a hint at what I have to post about:

1. Keeley!
2. Recovered iron board
3. Recovered iron board turned pin board
4. Recovered office chair
5. Recovered lampshade
6. New look for the craft room
7. Other house updates
8. Board game updates
9. Chez moi updates

I’ve also been collecting ideas for book covers, and man, do I have a lot! I hope that once I settle into teaching, I will feel less stressed and more open to crafting again. Sometimes I consciously avoid it so that I can plunge onward with the readings for class. I once scoffed at a professor who said that teaching is more work than being a student, but now that I have a year’s worth of experience, well, I concur!

Since I probably have not mentioned anything about grad school here, I will throw this tidbit out there: I taught 3 classes my last year there, and now I will be teaching at least 4 classes at my undergrad school in 2014. I am not sure I will have anything lined up for the fall, yet, but I will remain optimistic. If you would like to follow my “professional” blog, email me and the link shall be yours!
