#52tagshannemade 9

Saturday, March 6, 2021

[I am following Anne Brooke‘s 2021 #52tagshannemade slow stitch challenge to make a little tag every week of the year – see them all here!] The theme for week 9 is to use up some bits and pieces and then add something that had been gifted to you. I sat on this one for a while because I try to match my tags in some way to the theme of thinking for the week. There really wasn’t any major thing though, except that I noticed the weather finally turning to spring, and the birds have started migrating back. That still didn’t get me anywhere, but then my neighbor gave me some old jewelry and an enamel bird pin cinched it for me!

My bits and pieces aren’t mostly fabric this time, but instead mostly trims. Green for the grass peeking through (our snow hadn’t yet melted – even today after a few 60 + degree days, there is still snow!), white for all the snow, blue for the sunny skies. And the gifted bird, for the migratory ones I am so happy to see.

The bits are only stitched at the top, so it is very inviting to run through them with your fingers. I like that this piece is so tangible.

And it has been a while since I took a group shot, so here you go:
